Rebecca + Jeff: Downtown Rochester, NY Wedding
Rebecca and Jeff’s wedding day had me soaring with joy! To be able to capture this very special time in their life was a true privilege for me.
The day was full of many touches that spoke volumes about them – from the pug socks that Jeff wore as a shoutout to the couple’s fur babies to the propeller that guests signed, inspired by his duty in the National Guard and love of aviation.
A truly heartwarming moment was recreating a wedding photo that Rebecca’s mother had taken at her own wedding. It was a beautiful way to commemorate her and honor her spirit. All of Rebecca’s aunts gathered to secure her veil and it was an emotional sight to witness all of these wonderful women around her, devoted to being with her at every step of the way in life.
You will never regret taking a few moments alone as a couple to capture some moments between just the two of you. I highly recommend that you carve out time in your busy wedding day to do that. The hotel had a a patio that was lit beautifully at night and we couldn’t pass up the chance to shoot some portraits there. So we stole away from the guests enjoying a lively reception in the ballroom and had the patio all to ourselves for these gorgeous shots.
I’m always misty-eyed at the end of a wedding day shoot. I think it’s because I feel so blessed that a couple has let me into their lives on one of the most special days they will ever share together. At the end of the night, we part as friends and look forward to seeing each other again through more of life’s special moments.
